BACKGROUND:
In November 2023, Brookhaven Country Club hosted the National Pickleball Tournament. The Dallas Sports Commission has completed its economic impact analysis for the event, and the City’s Tourism Department collected hotel room night data, occupancy tax, hotel revenue, and fiscal impact. The following presentation highlights the economic impact on the area and the City.
DISCUSSION:
The economic impact of the National Pickleball Tournament revealed over 50,000 total attendees, with a peak daily attendance of around 9,500. The City’s hotel occupancy tax collection for November 2023 is the highest November in our City's history.

This is an increase of $70,473 for November in the City’s hotel occupancy tax collection. The 30% increase year-over-year is directly related to the National Pickleball Tournament. Staff time and efforts helped with this successful event.
