Title

Receive a presentation from the Police Department regarding the Motor Vehicle Stop Data Analysis Report for calendar year 2023 as required by Articles 2.132 and 2.134 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.

Body

BACKGROUND:

Codified in Articles 2.132 and 2.134 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, the State of Texas requires that the Chief Administrator of a law enforcement agency submit an annual report of information on motor vehicle stops to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and to the governing body of each county or municipality served by the agency.

Justice Research Consultants, LLC, an independent outside source, conducted a comprehensive analysis of the Famers Branch Police Department’s calendar year 2023 motor vehicle stop information as outlined in state law and a review of department policies, training, and procedures pertaining to bias-based policing prevention.

The Staff will present the report and will be available to answer questions.
