Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-102 affirming the appointment of a shared Board Member with the City of Plano to serve on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) Board of Directors, and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Chapter 452 of the Texas Transportation Code provides for the appointment of a board member to DART. The City of Farmers Branch shares an appointment with the City of Plano and, in 2022, elected M. Nathan Barbera for a two-year term. Mr. Barbera’s term ends on June 30, 2024, and the City of Plano would like to reaffirm its selection of Mr. Barbera for another term to serve as the shared DART Board Member between the Cities of Plano and Farmers Branch. The term shall begin on July 1, 2024, and end on June 30, 2026.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2024-102 as presented.
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2024-102, with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
