BACKGROUND:
The Branch Connection, a hub for active adults in Farmers Branch since 2000, has seen minimal renovations apart from lobby and hallway flooring replacements. In May 2024, Proposition B was voted on by the residents of Famers Branch, which was designated to fund the second phase of the Branch Connection remodel.

Outlined below is a concise timeline of past City Council agenda items regarding the renovation:
? September 2021- City Council approved using ARPA funds in the FY21-22 budget for the renovation project.
? March 2023- City Council approved Quorum Architects, Inc. to provide the architectural design and develop construction documents and administrative oversight of the renovation.
? October 2023- Update to City Council on the project - one bid received; rebidding project.
? December 2023 - Project awarded to Ruddick Construction Group for the initial phase of the remodel.
? May 2024 - Bond election for Proposition B to fund the second phase of the remodel.
? June 2024 - One bid was received for the second phase.

DISCUSSION:
After reviewing and vetting the bids, Rudick Construction Group has the most comprehensive budget, realistic schedule, positive reviews, and a team with applicable experience.

The renovation's main funding source is $2,000,000 from the bond, and the remainder will be supplemented by the Park Maintenance CIP account.

This item is consistent with the City's Strategic Plan relative to:
? Provide Attractive, Unique, and Connected Spaces, and for Community Interaction (C2)
? Invest to Maintain and Provide High-Quality Public Assets (F1)

FISCAL IMPACT:
The budgeted financial impact is $2,000,000 using bonds.
