The Leadership of the City of Farmers Branch appreciates the effort, dedication, and time our employees put into their jobs. The city has a program to recognize employees for depicting these values. We appreciate and recognize our employees’ hard work and efforts. Tonight, we recognize Robert White, Firefighter, Fire Department, as our Employee of the Month for the month of July.
Robert has been with the City of Farmers Branch for approximately two years, and in that time, he has consistently shown a deep commitment to serving our community. Robert received a REACT recognition from one of his peers for the REACT value - CARE. While the fire crew was at a grocery store buying their meals for the shift, Robert used a separate checkout line to purchase some personal items. While in that line, without anyone else watching, his co-worker witnessed Robert purchase the groceries of an elderly man behind him with his own money. Robert scanned, bagged, paid for with his funds, and loaded a complete stranger's groceries. This simple act of generosity speaks volumes about his character. It wasn't just a moment of kindness; it was an expression of who Robert is-someone who lives and breathes the values of selflessness, care, and community. His actions are a powerful reminder of what it means to embody the REACT principles truly. Robert's selfless nature and commitment to making a difference, even when no one is watching, inspire us all. Congratulations, Robert, on this well-deserved recognition and award.
