BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department has developed a three-way contract between the City of Farmers Branch and Fairfield Development for the upcoming development of Fairfield Farmers Branch, a multi-family residential building located at 13342 Midway Road. Per the recommendation of the City Attorney, a three-way contract would ensure that the developer would be responsible for constructing all public infrastructure at this location per City standards and requirements if they were to default on this project. The public infrastructure items would include traffic signals, a sanitary sewer system, a storm drain system, waterlines, sidewalks, street paving, and some landscaping.
DISCUSSION:
It is in the interest of the City of Farmers Branch to enter into a three-way developer contract with Fairfield Development for the upcoming development of Fairfield Farmers Branch to ensure that the public infrastructure is constructed according to City standards and to ensure that the infrastructure would be a benefit to the future of Farmers Branch’s resident.
