Discuss City Council direction for Boards and Commissions.

BACKGROUND:
At the request of Mayor Pro Tem Roman at the January 21, 2025, City Council meeting, this item was placed on the agenda and will be discussed amongst the City Councilmembers to provide direction to the City’s boards and commissions. There is no presentation with this item, it will be a discussion item only.
Each year, boards and commissions present to the City Council a year in review of the activities associated with their boards. During this time, boards and commissions may ask for Council guidance related to their particular boards.
The following boards presented to the City Council in November and December 2024:
1. Arts and Culture Committee:
a. Specific Direction Requested:
i. Budget funding allocation related to murals, wayfinding signage, and wraps for electrical boxes
ii. Budget related to the promotion of artwork and branding
2. Historical Preservation and Restoration Board
a. Specific Direction Requested:
i. What would you like to see from the Historical Park in the future?
3. Library Board
4. Senior Advisory Board
5. Sustainability Committee
6. Zoning Board of Adjustment
7. Animal Shelter Advisory Committee
8. Planning and Zoning Commission
9. Parks and Recreation Board
