BACKGROUND:
At the January 21, 2025, City Council meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Omar Roman requested a future agenda item related to the discussion of a calendar outlining the celebration or recognition of holidays and events that may accompany a proclamation.
The City Council will conduct a policy discussion and provide direction to the staff on the next steps. The requesting council member will lead the discussion, with the mayor facilitating it. Staff will be present to answer any questions.
The attached calendar has been drafted as a discussion starting point for the City Council to consider holidays or events to recognize with either a social media post and/or a proclamation.
NEXT STEPS:
1. Table the item for further review and consideration by Mayor Pro Tem Roman
2. Bring back for further discussion and additional information, if needed, at a future study session.
3. Provide direction to City staff to move forward with the proposed calendar and policy and place it on the Consent Agenda.
