INTRODUCTION FROM THE MAYOR:
On behalf of the City of Farmers Branch City Council, I am honored to recognize and be a part of the presentation to Margaret Young for the 2025 Texas Public Pool Council Distinguished Service Award.
BACKGROUND:
This award is given to an individual whose activities best represent unselfish devotion in service to the aquatics profession. For over 40 years, Margaret Young has been an active participant and vibrant leader for Parks and Recreation and as a member of the Parks and Recreation Board, spending 13 years as Chair. Her desire to make Farmers Branch a better living place and determination to bring dreams to fruition have often benefited the community. She is a staunch advocate for those who might not otherwise speak for themselves, always remembering that recreation opportunities are for all abilities and income levels.
