Title
Receive an update on a City Facility Rental Policy.
Body
BACKGROUND:
Starting at the City Council meeting on March 6th, staff presented on the current status of meeting space available in City of Farmers Branch facilities. Staff was directed to develop a policy that facilitates rental of rooms not previously available for rent including the Senior Center, City Hall, Library (currently free) and Fire Administration. In addition to adding new facilities to the rental policy, staff is working with the City Attorney to allow alcohol to be served in City facilities.
The attached, draft rental policy serves as a baseline for renting meeting space in City facilities. Feedback was gathered from all stakeholders to develop this policy, and this feedback has been incorporated into the policy. This policy serves as a starting point that covers the universal guidelines for renting space in a City facility. From here, staff will develop facility-specific guidelines that cover the unique features at each facility.
DISCUSSION:
Staff will seek input from Council about the direction this project is going as we prepare to make additional City facilities available for rent. Staff will also outline the timeline for implementing and completing this project.
