BACKGROUND:
On June 4th, 2024, the City Council approved funding in the amount of $209,000 from the Fiscal Year 2024 Dallas County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, a federal program administered through Dallas County. The City was able to secure a bid for this project from Fuquay, Inc. in the total amount of $275,725.85 using a BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing quote. With the acceptance of the $209,000 from Dallas County, the remaining funds, in the amount of $66,725.85, will be allocated to the Non-Bond Utility CIP fund. The scope of work includes the replacement of the sewer main, sewer services, and manhole rehabilitation in the easement between Richland Avenue and Squire Place from Goodwater Street to Dennis Lane.
DISCUSSION:
This contract was secured with a BuyBoard quote through the City’s purchasing regulations. The budget and project size for this project are relatively small to receive favorable bid prices. The BuyBoard quotes provide the City with the advantage of utilizing bids from larger government entities. The Fuquay, Inc. BuyBoard Cooperative bid for this project is $275,725.85. This is a pipe-bursting project with a 60-day estimated completion time.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted financial impact of $66,725.85 from the Capital Improvement Program Non-Bond Utility Fund, and the remaining $209,000 to be reimbursed from the Dallas County CDBG program.
