BACKGROUND:
Ordinance No. 3221 established a uniform term year to begin in July of each year for board, committee, and commission members. The Parks and Recreation Board, Historical Preservation and Restoration Board, Animal Shelter Advisory Committee, Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment Zones #1 and #2, Senior Advisory Board, Local Government Corporation, Family Advisory Board, and Community Watch Committee each have members with terms expiring the end of this month.
In addition, there is one vacancy on the Planning & Zoning Commission due to the resignation of Jonathon Bingham.
DISCUSSION:
Board and commission appointments were discussed at the August 4, 2015 City Council meeting. The consensus from the City Council was to appoint the following at tonight’s meeting:

RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends an individual that is a Farmers Branch resident, a registered voter (excluding the youth members wishing to serve on the Family Advisory board), and who meet additional requirements specific to a board/commission be appointed or reappointed.
