BACKGROUND:
The City of Farmers Branch remains committed to supporting programs and partnerships that enhance the quality of life for residents and contribute to a vibrant, connected community. The Metrocrest Area Chamber plays an important role in advancing these goals by fostering economic development, supporting local businesses, and strengthening connections among business leaders, residents, and community organizations. Through its networking opportunities, leadership programs, advocacy efforts, and community events, the Metrocrest Area Chamber promotes business growth, civic engagement, and regional collaboration that contribute to a thriving and prosperous community.
As part of this commitment, the City of Farmers Branch collaborates with the Metrocrest Area Chamber of Commerce on regional events, economic development initiatives, and efforts to strengthen relationships with the local business community. Through this partnership, the City supports programs and opportunities that promote business growth, regional cooperation, and community engagement.
The Chamber provides annual reports to the City that highlight business engagement efforts, programs, accomplishments, and events conducted throughout the year. These reports offer an overview of the Chamber’s activities and demonstrate its ongoing support of the local business community and regional economic development initiatives.
DISCUSSION:
As part of its annual update to the City Council, and at the request of Councilmember Elizabeth Villafranca, representatives from the Metrocrest Area Chamber of Commerce will provide an overview of the organization's economic development initiatives, recent rebranding efforts, key priorities for 2026, and upcoming programs and events.
Representatives from Metrocrest Area Chamber and City staff will be available for any questions the Council may have.
