Consider approving Resolution No. 2015-013 authorizing the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Weaver Boos Consultants, LLC-Southwest for professional engineering, surveying, and other services relating to construction of a slurry wall at Camelot Landfill and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The City owns and is the permit holder for the Camelot Landfill located in Lewisville, and therefore accepts municipal solid waste for disposal. A permit modification was approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on September 18, 2014 to construct a slurry wall along the eastern and southern portions of waste disposal area as part of corrective actions taken by the City to address the groundwater contamination at the site.
Weaver Boos Consultants, LLC - Southwest has provided landfill engineering services for the City on previous landfill related projects, including landfill gas collection system and the landfill permit amendment to expand the disposal capacity of the facility.
DISCUSSION:
Weaver Boos has provided a proposal in the amount not to exceed $349,615.00 for engineering services to oversee the construction of slurry walls as well as install groundwater wells. They have provided reference for similar service for other clients in Texas and other states. Moreover, the firm designed and permitted the slurry wall permit modification for Camelot Landfill. The slurry wall will remain in place through landfill closure. Funds are budgeted in the 2014-2015 Landfill Closure-Post Closure Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation by City Administration to approve Resolution No. 2015-013 authorizing the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Weaver Boos Consultants, LLC-Southwest for professional engineering, surveying, and other services relating to construction of a slurry wall at Camelot Landfill.
