BACKGROUND:
During the strategic planning process, the City Council identified public safety as one of its priorities. The public safety items included traffic control, calming measures, and crosswalks as part of these initiatives. The Public Works Department has secured a professional engineering services agreement with Cobb, Fendley, and Associates, Inc. for the Citywide Intersection and Pedestrian Analysis Study through the request for qualification process. The analysis would be a comprehensive evaluation of pedestrian and driver safety and mobility across 23 strategic areas within the city. The areas would include:

2. Valley View Lane at William Dodson Parkway
3. Valley View Lane at Dennis Lane
4. Valley View Lane at Rawhide Drive
5. Valley View Lane at Tom Field Road
6. Valley View Lane at Josey Lane
7. Valley View Lane at Marsh Lane
8. Valley View Lane at Hickory Way/College entrance
9. Valley View Lane at Valley View Lane /Alpha Road
10. Pebble Beach Drive at Marsh Lane
11. Bee Street at Farmers Branch Lane
12. Ford Road at Farmers Branch Lane
13. Josey Lane at Farmers Branch Lane
14. Josey Lane at Villa Creek Drive
15. Dennis Lane at Richland Avenue
16. Valwood Parkway at Bee Street
17. Valwood Parkway at Albemarle Drive
18. Wittington Place at Wimbledon Way
19. Mid-block crossing near Firehouse Theatre
20. Valley View Lane at Goodland Street
21. Farmers Branch Lane at Josey Lane

DISCUSSION:
This item is part of the City Council initiatives established in the 2026 Strategic Plan. Once improvements and enhancements have been identified, Public Works will bid these items out for construction over the coming fiscal years.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The professional services agreement with Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. is in the amount of $334,865. Funds are available in the FY 25-26 Non-Bond CIP - Streets Revitalization Project.
