BACKGROUND:
In January 2023, the City entered into an agreement with SHARx LLC to establish a prescription advocacy savings program for eligible employees who elect to participate in alternative sourcing for specialty medications.
DISCUSSION:
With an additional $38,362.60, the cost of specialty medication claims has exceeded $50,000, triggering the need for the Council’s approval to continue payment for those claims.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Specialty pharmacy claims are budgeted in the Claims Incurred Employee account.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2024-084 as presented.
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2024-084, with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
