BACKGROUND:
The current agreement for UMR Medical and ProAct Pharmacy expires on December 31, 2024. The City would like to move forward with renewing the agreement for calendar years 2025 and 2026, maintaining guaranteed rates for employees and fees to the city. The current premiums have not changed for employees and the City in 10 years. This renewal will include increasing employee and City contributions and assisting with inflationary increases to health claims. A formal RFP will be conducted for the calendar year 2027.
DISCUSSION:
The proposed Resolutions authorize the City Manager to negotiate and sign a contract for medical insurance through UMR and pharmacy insurance through ProAct on behalf of the City for plan years 2025 and 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted Financial Impact from the Human Resources Insurance Fund account in the amount of $5.4 million.
