BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department has secured a professional services agreement with Birkhoff, Hendricks, and Carter for $185,600 for design enhancements related to the interior and exterior painting of the Valley View elevated storage tank (EST) and the exterior roof repainting of the Wicker ground storage reservoir. The Wicker ground storage reservoir tank was last painted in 2010 and has had multiple repairs, while the Valley View EST has not been repainted since 2008.
DISCUSSION:
The scope of services for this professional services agreement includes the design and preparation of the construction plans, specifications, bidding, and construction administration for the complete interior and exterior repainting of the Valley View EST and the exterior roof repainting of the Wicker ground storage reservoir. The Valley View EST will receive the same logo and color scheme as the Westside EST.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is a budgeted item for $185,600 from the Utility Replacement and Improvement CIP fund.
