Committee members can recommend topics that they would like discussed at future meetings
Topics that have previously been mentioned include:
• Rewilding landscapes (grow zones, wildflower/pollinator gardens)
• Zoning and attainable housing
• Updates on the draft tree preservation ordinance (on hold)
• Committee recommendation on the landscape ordinance amendments (on hold)
• Expansion of composting opportunities to increase landfill diversion
• Low cost solutions to prevent stormwater runoff
• Traffic Signal timing
• Update on sustainability initiatives from Dallas College
• Water pipe replacements
• Parks (Xeriscaping medians)
• Building Codes
• Waste Diversion possibilities with the closure of the Citizen’s Collection Center
• Class to educate residents on available rebates
