BACKGROUND:
The Woven Health Clinic provides low-cost healthcare services to Farmers Branch residents. The City of Farmers Branch contracts with Woven Health via a Social Services Funding Agreement. Established in 2023, the agreement authorizes funding at $50,000 per year for five years, contingent upon annual budget appropriation. As part of their agreement, Woven Health provided its annual update regarding these services on June 4, 2024, and answered questions from the City Council.
During the June 27, 2024, City Council Special Called Budget Meeting, the Council directed the reduction of funding to $25,000 and requested more information be provided via a Study Session presentation during the July 16, 2024, City Council meeting. Specifically, discussion points surrounded the one-time funding increase to $50,000 the previous year, the impacts of a federal funding decrease, the impacts of concierge membership service, and the number of Farmers Branch residents served.
DISCUSSION:
Woven Health’s Executive Director Jackie Rakowski will present the requested information, including details regarding funding, impacts, and Farmers Branch residents served.
