Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-008 authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Thomas Bus Texas, Inc. for the purchase of a transportation bus for the Parks and Recreation Department through a Buyboard Contract in the amount of $135,300; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The City purchased one transportation bus for the Parks and Recreation Department in 2001. The Parks and Recreation Department currently utilizes this bus for children’s activities to and from the location and addresses other department needs. The current transportation bus is out of service due to engine failure and was on the existing fleet replacement for this fiscal year (FY 2023-24).
DISCUSSION:
The FY2023-24 Fleet Replacement budget includes $130,000 to purchase a Parks and Recreation Department transportation bus. The City of Farmers Branch requested a quote from Buyboard Cooperative. The quote received is $135,300. The City Administration evaluated the quotations to meet specifications and desire to award the purchase to Thomas Bus Texas. Inc. The remaining balance of $5,300 will be charged to the Parks and Recreation budget.
