BACKGROUND:
The City is invested in improving the health and well-being of its residents through community partnerships with local nonprofit agencies. By collaborating with these nonprofit agencies, the City helps connect individuals and families to healthcare and supportive resources that may otherwise be difficult to access. These partnerships reinforce the City’s commitment to supporting vulnerable and underserved populations throughout the community.
As part of this commitment, the City of Farmers Branch provides financial support to nonprofit organizations, such as Woven Health Clinic, that deliver valuable programs and services to Farmers Branch residents through its five-year service agreement with Woven Health. These investments help strengthen community-based healthcare services, increase access to essential care, and ensure residents have greater opportunities to receive the support they need.
The current five-year agreement, executed in 2023, includes a requirement for an annual update to the City Council regarding services provided, program outcomes, and community impact.
DISCUSSION:
The Woven Health Clinic will provide an annual update to the City Council on the clinic’s services, health impacts affecting uninsured or underinsured residents in Farmers Branch, the organization's accomplishments, and key organizational updates.
Representatives from the Woven Health Clinic and City staff will be available to answer any questions the Council may have.
