BACKGROUND:
This agenda item provides Committee members the opportunity to review attendance and quorum requirements and learn about training opportunities.
Absences:
Per Ordinance No. 3730: Any person appointed by the City Council to a board or commission as either a regular member or alternate member shall be deemed to
have a resigned and vacated the position to which such person was appointed if such person is absent from more than 25% of the regular meetings of the board or commission during any period of twelve (12) consecutive months.
Quorum:
The Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances establishes the authorized membership and quorum requirements for each board, committee, and commission in Chapter 2, Article II. Quorum is determined based on the authorized voting membership established by the applicable ordinance. Accordingly, the existence of one or more vacancies does not change the authorized membership or reduce the number of members required to constitute a quorum.
