Consider adopting Ordinance 3844 calling the May 4, 2024 General Election for City Council Districts 3 and 5; authorizing the City Manager to execute an election services contract with the Dallas County Elections Department; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
In order to fill expiring terms for City Council Districts 3 and 5, the City Council must order an election to be held on May 4, 2024, for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council for Districts 3 and 5.
Adopting Ordinance No. 3844 authorizes the City to hold a general election for the purpose of electing a Council Member for Districts 3 and 5 and authorizes the execution of an election contract with Dallas County Elections.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds have been budgeted for election services in the Administration Elections account.

RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Ordinance No. 3844 as presented.
