Consider excusing the absence of Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Omar Roman from the December 12, 2023, City Council meeting, and Councilmember Martin Baird from the special called City Council meeting on December 19, 2023; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
As a matter of practice, the City Council has excused the absence of a City Council member when a member has a pre-noticed excusable absence. By excusing an absence, the City Council member is not penalized for using one of the three absences allowed in the Charter.
DISCUSSION:
The City Council may wish to consider excusing Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Omar Roman from the City Council meeting on December 12, 2023, and Councilmember Martin Baird from the special called Council meeting on December 19, 2023.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving the absences of Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Omar Roman and Councilmember Martin Baird.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve the absence as presented.
2. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
