Title

Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-236 authorizing the City Manager to accept the transfer of the maintenance of three medians in the Oakbrook Subdivision to the City from the Oakbrook Community Services Association, Inc. for a specified one-time payment of $23,360; and take appropriate action.

Body

REQUESTOR:

Parks and Recreation Department

BACKGROUND:

Under direction from the City Council, staff has worked closely with the Oakbrook Community Services Association, Inc. (Homeowners Association) on the process for the City to take maintenance of three medians in the Oakbrook Subdivision that the Oakbrook Community Services Association, Inc., currently maintains.

DISCUSSION:

In the spring of 2024, the City Council discussed with staff and members of the Oakbrook Community Services Association, Inc. regarding the City retaining the maintenance of the three medians in the Oakbrook Subdivision currently maintained by the Association. During the fiscal year 2025, budget funding was allocated to the maintenance of the medians and approved by the City Council. As part of the transition process, the Association would pay $23,360 for their portion of the costs of transferring the irrigation systems to the City. The resolution and letter will provide the mechanism for the City to retain the maintenance of the medians, accept the $23,360 payment from the Association, and document the transaction in City records.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Budgeted Financial Impact of $23,360 in revenues.

DISTRICT:

District 5
