Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3962 appointing Alternate Municipal Court Judge Donna Winfield to the City of Farmers Branch Municipal Court of Record No.1; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
On January 21, 2025, the City Council appointed Judge Shannon Willis as the Presiding Judge. The City Council also tasked Judge Willis with interviewing candidates for alternate judge positions and providing recommendations. As a result, on August 19, 2025, the City Council discussed and approved the appointment of an alternate judge.
DISCUSSION:
As a result, Ordinance No. 3962 includes the appointment of Donna Winfield as an alternate judge, based on the presiding judge's recommendation. The alternate judge is appointed for a term of two (2) years commencing September 16, 2025, and ending on September 15, 2027.
The resume for Donna Winfield is included in this agenda. The two-year terms for the alternate judges are effective immediately.
