Consider approving Resolution No. 2017-104, authorizing a contract amendment with The Firehouse Theatre; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
In 2015, the City Council entered into an agreement with Farmers Branch Community Theatre, Inc. In this agreement, the Firehouse Theatre was required to pay a portion of ticket sales ($1.00) to the City of Farmers Branch. The City Council recently reviewed nonprofit funding requests at the August 15, 2017 City Council meeting and directed staff to amend the agreement and remove the requirement to pay the City a portion of ticket sales.
DISCUSSION:
The amended agreement removes the requirement that the City receives a portion of all ticket sales from The Firehouse Theatre, and will be an alternate method to assist with nonprofit funding.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving Resolution No. 2017-104, as presented.
