Receive a report on the State of Texas Event Trust Fund Grant for the United Pickleball Association.

BACKGROUND:
The State of Texas Event Trust Fund grant application includes a section for the local city contribution. This amount can be utilized for visitor and city needs before and during the event. Marketing, hotel visitor transportation plans, safety, and security are a few of the categories the city is developing with the host, UPA. The city can use the Hotel Occupancy Tax fund for event needs, which is funded directly from hotel room night revenue and not the general fund. The city will include an endorsement letter with the application to be included on a future agenda.
Once the grant application details are complete, City staff can present the detailed information to the City Council for review and approval before formal submittal in July 2024.
