Title

Body
REQUESTOR:
Parks and Recreation Department

BACKGROUND:
An engineering assessment of the City's pole lighting system at Oran Good Park was recently conducted to evaluate the safety and structural integrity of the system. The Park originally contained 17 pole lights, two of which have already been removed due to advanced deterioration. The third-party engineering analysis determined that the remaining 15 poles pose significant safety risks and must be replaced to ensure continued public safety and reliable park lighting.

DISCUSSION:
To address these findings, City staff engaged Groves Electrical Services to complete the full replacement project. The scope of work includes:
* Removal of all existing poles from their current piers.
* Inspection and repair of anchors to confirm structural stability before installation.
* Installation of 17 new poles, each outfitted with two lighting fixtures to provide adequate illumination for park users.

The total cost of the project is $92,550, which reflects both the removal of the unsafe poles and the installation of new, long-lasting fixtures designed to enhance the safety, security, and usability of Oran Good Park during evening hours.

This investment ensures that the City continues to provide safe, well-maintained recreational spaces for residents while proactively addressing infrastructure needs identified through professional engineering analysis.
