Public Works Department

BACKGROUND:
On October 18, 2016, the City entered into a Public Improvement Deferral Agreement with the City of Lewisville, Texas, regarding the operation of and access to the City of Farmers Branch Camelot Landfill, which is located within Lewisville. Under the agreement, the City of Farmers Branch agreed that, once certain conditions were met, it would dedicate and convey to the City of Lewisville Lot 4, Block A, of the Farmers Branch Camelot Landfill Addition. The property is owned by the City of Farmers Branch and is needed for the City of Lewisville to construct and improve the Huffines Extension, a public roadway that provides access to the landfill site.

Those conditions have now been met. Accordingly, the City is now able to fulfill its obligations under the agreement by authorizing the dedication and conveyance of the property to the City of Lewisville.

DISCUSSION:
Approval of Resolution No. 2026-139 will authorize the conveyance of Lot 4, Block A, of the Farmers Branch Camelot Landfill Addition to the City of Lewisville. The conditions required under the agreement have now been satisfied. Accordingly, dedicating and conveying the property to the City of Lewisville fulfills the City’s obligations under the 2016 agreement and facilitates the planned roadway improvements.
