The Leadership of the City of Farmers Branch appreciates the effort, dedication, and time our employees put into their jobs. The city has a program to recognize employees for depicting these values. We appreciate and recognize our employees' hard work and efforts. Tonight, we recognize Thinh Nguyen, Police Officer, as our Employee of the Month for the month of August.
Officer Thinh Nguyen has proudly served the City of Farmers Branch for 18 years, consistently demonstrating exceptional dedication and professionalism. His career is marked by numerous commendations, including a Lifesaving Award, a Certificate of Appreciation, and written reports from citizens and supervisors alike. He has been recognized for his bravery during a life-threatening assault in 2018 and last year, for his outstanding civic involvement representing our Police Department.
Most recently, Officer Nguyen responded to a call involving a young woman facing psychiatric challenges. After ensuring her safety, he discovered that she and her mother were hungry but couldn't afford a meal. Without hesitation, he purchased food for them with his own money. This selfless gesture speaks volumes about his character and genuine care for the community.
While we recognize Officer Nguyen for this act of kindness, it is just one example of his remarkable contributions. Over the years, he has received numerous commendations for his bravery, professionalism, and commitment to service, showing time and time again how he consistently reflects our core values.
