Consider adopting Resolution No. 2022-148 authorizing the Interim City Manager to approve the purchase of seven (7) replacement HVAC units for $149,714 from Trane U.S. Inc. through the BuyBoard Contract; and taking appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Based on life cycle analysis, the FY2022-23 Fixed Asset budget includes $150,000 for purchasing replacement HVAC units as deemed necessary. This purchase supports Critical Business Outcomes - Plan for, build, and maintain high-quality public assets.
DISCUSSION:
Staff evaluated the HVAC equipment at the Justice Center, The Branch Connection, and Fire Station 3. These buildings have:
* Justice Center has a total of 22 individual HVAC units on the roof
* The Branch Connection has a total of 15 individual HVAC units on the roof
* Fire Station 3 has a total of 8 individual HVAC units on the roof
The evaluation considered historical repair frequency, costs, current condition, and recommendations from the City's Crew Lead technician with over 15 years of HVAC experience. As a result, the staff recommends replacing three HVAC units at the Justice Center, three HVAC units at the Branch Connection, and one HVAC unit at Fire Station 3.
The City of Farmers Branch requested a quotation from the Buy Board Contract. City Administration evaluated the quote to meet specifications and desires to award the purchase of the four replacement HVAC units to Trane U.S. Inc. for $149,714.

City Administration recommends approving the purchase of seven HVAC unit replacements for the Justice Center, the Branch Connection, and Fire Station 3 from Trane U.S. Inc., through the BuyBoard Contract budgeted in the FY2022-23 Budget.
