With the approval of the new 2013 Thoroughfare Plan on our agenda tonight, city staff felt it was an appropriate time to begin a discussion with the Commission on the long range plan for other modes of transportation, such as pedestrian walkways and bicycle trails. In 2011 the City approved a Trails Network Plan. This plan was the first step in developing a city wide trail plan that connects our neighborhoods to parks, schools and retail areas.
Tonight , we will review the existing Trails Network Plan and begin talking about what revisions might be in order in the future. In addition, staff would like to know what sidewalks and trails you and your family currently use within the City, and which areas might need further investigation.
