BACKGROUND:

In an effort to improve the quality of housing opportunities in the City of Farmers Branch, the City Council enacted a Residential Demolition/Rebuild Program pursuant to Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code. This encourages the redevelopment of existing single-family detached residential properties by constructing new, higher-value, single-family detached residential structures.

 

In 2020, Ed Bonneau applied for a Demo/Rebuild incentive and was approved with Resolution No. 2020-121 by the City Council. The initial demolition/rebuild incentive was built under the resident's name rather than the business name, Todd Bonneau Custom Homes. When the property was sold, the incentive agreement was not transferred.  No tax incentive has been paid for this property address.

 

DISCUSSION:

The purpose of the resolution is to fix two errors and ensure the agreement follows the City’s policies and procedures:

                     The incorrect assignment from 2020 with Resolution No. 2020-121

                     The incorrect address from 2025 with Resolution No. 2025-018

o                     Incorrect address: 12711 Epps Field

o                     Correct address: 12715 Epps Field

 

Resolution No. 2025-075 ensures the accuracy of addresses and assignments.
