Consider accepting the resignation of Councilmember Martin Baird, District 2, and adopting Ordinance No. 3877, calling a Special Election to be held on November 5, 2024, to fill the unexpired remaining term of office; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
On July 11, 2024, Councilmember Martin Baird of District 2 submitted a resignation letter. With that, a Special Election must be held within 120 days of the date of resignation to fill the position for the unexpired term ending in May 2026. The next uniform election date will be on November 5, 2024. With the passage of Ordinance No. 3877, the Special Election will be called for that date.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are budgeted for this election in General Government-Elections.
