Presentation of a Proclamation recognizing May 11 through May 17, 2025, as National Police Week.

Body

REQUESTOR:

Mayor Pro Tem Omar Roman

INTRODUCTION BY MAYOR PRO TEM:

It is an honor to present this proclamation declaring May 11 through May 17 as National Police Week, and to celebrate our law enforcement personnel who put themselves on the line every day to protect the lives and property of our citizens. We are truly appreciative of the sacrifices that are made by our police force each and every day.

BACKGROUND:

National Police Week was started in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy to honor the courageous police officers who protect citizens all across the country, and to honor the fallen or wounded heroes who have made great sacrifices in the line of duty.
