BACKGROUND:
In 2016, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2016-039, establishing regular meeting dates and times for City Council meetings. The City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month except when conflicts arise.
The proposed 2027 City Council meeting dates calendar will be presented, and any additional meetings or changes to the regular schedule will be discussed. Highlights from the calendar, other than regularly scheduled City Council meetings, include:
January:
• 12 - Pre-Strategic Planning Session (Tuesday)
• 26 - State of the City (Tuesday)
February:
• 9 - Joint City Council/Board Chair Meeting (Tuesday)
• 23 - Strategic Planning Session (Tuesday)
• 26 - Board/Commission Banquet (Friday)
May:
• 11 - Special Called Meeting/Board Appointment Workshop (Tuesday)
• 13 - New Councilmember Orientation (Thursday)
June:
• 14 - Joint City Council/Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting (Monday)
July:
• 13 - Joint City Council/Board Chair Meeting (Tuesday)
August:
• 24 - Budget Town Hall (Tuesday)
• 31 - Proposed Budget Meeting, if needed (Tuesday)
September:
• 28 - Proposed Budget Meeting, if needed (Tuesday)
October:
• 6 - City Council (Wednesday due to National Night Out/Public Safety Day on October 5)
DISCUSSION:
The City Council will discuss the proposed 2027 City Council meeting date calendar and direct staff on any amendments to the proposed schedule.
