Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3309 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, Article II, Division 6, Section 82-95, amending No Parking Zones adjacent to Cabell Elementary School and Montgomery Elementary School relative to the times of day; adding a No Parking Zone along a portion of Damascus Way, east of its intersection with Webb Chapel Road; and deleting a No Parking Zone on Valwood Parkway between Dennis Lane and Webb Chapel Road; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Consistent with Core Value No. 1 to provide safety and security for citizens, visitors and businesses through progressive public safety programs, proposed Ordinance No. 3309 amends the no parking zones in four locations.
At Dallas Independent School District's Cabell Elementary and at Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District's Montgomery Elementary, the no parking ordinances state specific hours for no parking around the campuses. Since school start and end times change at the discretion of the school districts, City Administration is recommending that the no parking signs be changed from specific times to read "No Parking During School Zone Hours". Proposed Ordinance No. 3309 would allow for such.
During an audit of signs throughout the City, it was found that Valwood Parkway between Dennis Lane and Webb Chapel Road has an ordinance in effect that prohibits parking within this area between the hours of 7 AM to 9 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Valwood Parkway between Dennis Lane and Webb Chapel Road has pavement markings allowing parking availability along both sides of Valwood within this section of the street. Proposed Ordinance No. 3309 would repeal the no parking on Valwood Parkway.
