Consider accepting a $1,500 donation from the Farmers Branch Rotary Club for the City's Youth Scholarship Program and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Since 1992, the Youth Scholarship Program has allowed children to participate in various leisure activities they otherwise might not be able to access. Youth Scholarship Program funding is generated from civic organizations such as the Rotary Club and from businesses and individual donors. The Program works in coordination with local youth organizations to secure needed supplies, equipment, and registration funding support for activities such as baseball, football, soccer, cheerleading, band, and Scouting.
DISCUSSION:
The Farmers Branch Rotary Club would like to donate $1,500 to the City of Farmers Branch to be used for the Youth Scholarship Program. The Rotary Club raised the funds through its annual golf tournament, which was held April 29, 2013. The Farmers Branch Rotary Club has been a very generous donor to the Program and, over the years, has provided over $15,000 to assist local youths.
Golf Tournament Chair, Jim Barrett, is here tonight to represent the Farmers Branch Rotary Club.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends accepting the donation from the Farmers Branch Rotary Club.
ACTIONS:
1) Motion to accept the $1,500 donation from the Farmers Branch Rotary Club.
2) Motion to deny the $1,500 donation from the Farmers Branch Rotary Club.
3) Motion to modify to meet the needs of Council.
4) Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
