BACKGROUND:
Committee members can recommend topics that they would like to discuss at future meetings.
Topics that have previously been mentioned include:
• Zoning and attainable housing
• Updates on the tree preservation ordinance
• Expansion of composting opportunities to increase landfill diversion
• Waste diversion opportunities
• Information on utility rebate programs
• Reducing urban heat island effect
• Expansion of the water rebate program
• Discussion on educational events (Follow up from the Built and Natural Environment subcommittee presentation)
• Member presentations: compost and hot water pumps
• Tiny forests in urban areas
• Subcommittee membership review
• Information on city energy usage, solar, and energy efficiency at municipal buildings
