Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-070 reappointing Dr. Natasha Singh, M.D., to serve as appointee of the City of Farmers Branch to the Board of Directors of the Metrocrest Hospital Authority Board; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Metrocrest Hospital Authority represents the communities of North Dallas, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Coppell, Addison, and The Colony. Its primary mission is to create a quality healthcare environment for both providers and users and ensure that the Authority can meet the healthcare needs of the communities it serves.
The Metrocrest Hospital Authority bylaws require that the Farmers Branch City Council appoint a member to the Board of Directors of the Hospital Authority. The Board consists of ten members, eight of which are appointed by the Metrocrest Hospital Authority Board of Directors, Place 7 is appointed by the City of Farmers Branch, and Place 5 is appointed by the City of Carrollton. Each board member serves a two-year term.
Dr. Natasha Singh, M.D., was appointed by the Farmers Branch City Council in 2021, with a term expiring in December 2023. However, the bylaws have been updated to reflect a term expiration of June 30. Dr. Singh has requested to be reappointed for another two-year term that would expire on June 30, 2025.
