BACKGROUND:
Section 1.02, Boundary, was initially discussed during the Committee’s first meetings and was paused as no immediate amendment was identified as necessary. However, the Committee requested that the section be brought back at the conclusion of the review process if the overall number of proposed Charter amendments remained manageable.
The Committee may consider whether to recommend language providing that the City’s boundaries are “on record with the City Secretary’s Office,” or similar language, rather than retaining detailed boundary information in the Charter.
Section 1.02 reads as follows:
