Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3252 adopting the amendments to the Home Rule Charter approved by the voters of the City of Farmers Branch at a special election held on November 5, 2013 and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
On November 5, 2013 the voters of the City of Farmers Branch approved all of the proposed amendments to the Home Rule Charter.
DISCUSSION:
State law requires that, in addition to the canvass of the election results, the City Council formally adopt the voter approved amendments to the Home Rule Charter by ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Ordinance No. 3252 adopting the amendments to the Home Rule Charter as a result of the special election held on November 5, 2013.
ACTIONS:
1) Motion to adopt Ordinance No. 3252 adopting the amendments to the Home Rule Charter approved by the voters of the City of Farmers Branch at a special election held on November 5, 2013.
2) Motion to deny Ordinance No. 3252 adopting the amendments to the Home Rule Charter approved by the voters of the City of Farmers Branch at a special election held on November 5, 2013.
3) Motion to modify to meet the needs of the Council.
4) Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
