Discuss impervious surface and tree canopy data

BACKGROUND:
At the September 11, 2024 meeting, the committee reviewed impervious surface and tree canopy maps created by the city’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) division. The preliminary findings of the data showed that impervious surfaces covered 52% of the city. While tree canopy coverage was listed at 15%.
This agenda item will allow more time for the committee to discuss the findings and opportunities for future action.
