BACKGROUND:
Providing Fire Department personnel with appropriate uniforms is essential to maintaining professionalism, operational readiness, and a consistent standard of appearance across the department. Uniforms serve an important role in identifying personnel, promoting departmental unity, and ensuring employees are properly equipped to perform their daily responsibilities. Regular procurement and replacement of uniforms help address normal wear and tear, accommodate staffing needs, and maintain established departmental standards.
In FY 2026-2027, the Fire Department budgeted $114,100 for uniforms and related items. Related items will include:
Uniform patches
Badges
Collar brass
Class A uniforms
Other similar accessories
The Fire Department orders uniforms for both newly hired and current employees and will not exceed the budgeted funds of $114,100 with Galls, LLC through the Interlocal Agreement with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), which requires Council approval.
DISCUSSION:
The Council will discuss approving Resolution No. 2026-134, authorizing the purchase of uniforms and related equipment for the Farmers Branch Fire Department for an amount of $114,100 from Gallas, LLC through an Interlocal Agreement with NCTCOG. Staff will be available to answer any questions the Council may have.
FISCAL IMPACT:
All expenditures budgeted were approved in the FY 2026-2027 budget in the amount of $114,100.
