Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-065 authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with TJ’s Professional Painting, LLC for sandblasting and painting services of fire hydrants in the amount of $533,615.18; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department has identified 2,000 fire hydrants that require to be sandblasted, primed, and painted. Sandblasting and painting help protect the hydrants from rust and UV degradation, maintain visibility of the assets so the Fire Department can easily locate them during an emergency response, and maintain the aesthetics of the City.
The Public Works Department received a proposal from TJ’s Professional Painting, LLC, for sandblasting, priming, and painting 2,000 hydrants using the Texas BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative (“BuyBoard”) contract #733-24 for the amount of $533,615.18.
DISCUSSION:
The Public Works Department evaluated the quote and determined the services from TJ’s Professional Painting Services, LLC, meet the required specifications.

Budgeted Financial Impact from the CIP Utility Replacement and Improvement account.
