BACKGROUND:
Committee members can recommend topics that they would like to discuss at future meetings.
Topics that have previously been mentioned include:
• Zoning and attainable housing
• Committee recommendations on the landscape ordinance (on hold)
• Updates on the draft tree preservation ordinance (on hold)
• Expansion of composting opportunities to increase landfill diversion
• Low-cost solutions to prevent stormwater runoff
• Water pipe replacements
• Waste diversion opportunities
• Information on utility rebate programs
• HVAC and decarbonization - industry speaker
• Understanding code enforcement requirements towards more natural landscapes
• Urban cooling
• Discussion with Parks and/or school districts on native plantings
• Solar initiatives from other cities
