Public Hearing: Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3219 for a Specific Use Permit allowing motorcycle sales and repair located at 13990 Stemmons Freeway and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
RPM Cycle is proposing to relocate its existing motorcycle sales and repair business to the Valwood Design Center located at 13990 N. Stemmons Freeway (I-35E) and within Planned Development No. 70 zoning district. Additional landscaping is proposed along Stemmons Freeway, and a new signage configuration is also proposed along Stemmons Freeway and Denton Drive.
DISCUSSION:
A public hearing for this case was held at the regular February 11 meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission. After reading a brief description of the case into the record, Chairman Patterson asked Mrs. Jackson, Senior Planner, to give a detailed overview of the request. After the presentation, Eric Morgan, of Capstone Commercial (representing RPM), gave additional information to the Commission for the proposed project. No one spoke in opposition of this project at the public hearing. The Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the Specific Use Permit and Site Plan as presented that night.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously on February 11 to recommend approval of the Specific Use Permit as outlined in Ordinance No. 3219 to allow motorcycle sales and repair.
ACTIONS:
1) Motion to approve Ordinance No. 3219 for a Specific Use Permit allowing motorcycle sales and repair located at 13990 Stemmons Freeway.
2) Motion to deny Ordinance No. 3219 for a Specific Use Permit allowing motorcycle sales and repair located at 13990 Stemmons Freeway.
3) Motion to modify to meet the needs of the Council.
4) Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
