BACKGROUND:
The 2013-2014 Capital Improvement Program Budget Non-Bond Utility Fund provides funding for the construction of a lift station located in the Mercer Crossing development southeast of Wittington Road and Senlac Drive. The Mercer Crossing Lift Station will be constructed to provide service to new development within the limits of Wittington to the north, BNRR to the east, Mercer Crossing Lake to the west and IH635 to the south. This lift station will provide sanitary sewer service to the building that is currently under construction at the corner of Wittington and Senlac.
DISCUSSION:
On September 30, 2014, two bids were received and opened for the Mercer Crossing Lift Station project. All bids met specifications.
A budgeted amount of $1,500,000 is available for the Mercer Crossing Lift Station project. The low bidder is Felix Construction Company with a base bid in the amount of $1,024,217. Felix Construction Company has performed similar projects in the past and has provided adequate references. The contract time is 90 calendar days.
This item is consistent with Core Value No. 5 providing functional, sustainable and well maintained infrastructure, facilities and equipment.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended motion by City Administration to approve Resolution No. 2014-086 awarding the bid and authorizing a contract with Felix Construction Company for the Mercer Crossing Lift Station project.
